Jimbo has toured and recorded with a wide variety of artists including: Joe Driscoll & Sekou Kouyate (Cumbancha), DJ Yoda (Get Involved), Bam from Jungle Brothers, Jamie Woon (Polydor), Stac (Wah Wah 45s), Sarah & Julian Muldoon (PIAS), Joshua Whitehouse and Lazy Habits.
Receiving some tutelage from Frankie Tontoh (Amy Winehouse/ Craig David) and raised on a strict diet of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson & The Beatles, Jimbo’s knowledge of Soul, RnB & Hip Hop grooves has been called upon by studios such as Dean Street (Soho, London), Livingstone (Wood Green, London) and State of the Ark (Richmond, London) for recording projects, as well as soundtrack work for Channel 4.
Jimbo currently plays with Joe Driscoll & Sekou Kouyate (Cumbancha), a world music act combining elements of reggae/ soul/ hip-hop and West African music. Together they have toured across UK, Europe, USA, Canada & Africa and recorded an album. Jimbo also works closely with DJ Yoda – a respected UK hip-hop DJ and DMC scratch champion. With a full band, they released an album in 2015; ‘Breakfast of Champions’, which was awarded BBC Radio 6’s ‘Album of the Day’ and have toured the UK including festivals such as Glastonbury, Bestival & Boomtown.
Jimbo continues to work on new live and studio projects with a variety of artists, including his own project Nacoya featuring Eva Lazarus and is very proud to be part of the Liberty Drums family.
